Here at Atitlan Organics, we think that small-scale food production and localized resource utilization is the wave of the future. We are proud to spread the word of permaculture, nutrient dense food production, local resource utilization and other sustainable practices, as these are the areas where we can effect the most positive change in our lives and communities. Throughout the year, we host courses in Permaculture, natural building, herbalism, and more. All of our courses are a great mix of applied skills, ecological design and theory, and field trips throughout the region. Our courses are taught by amazing facilitators, are always full of people from all over the world, and are truly a one-of-a-kind experience!

Studying Permaculture and Natural Building at Atitlan Organics is a great way to fast track your understanding of natural systems and how to interact with them. We have built an educational and fully-functional, profitable, and off-the-grid permaculture farm. The systems in place allow visitors and students to experience the theory in real time. Furthermore, there are plenty of undeveloped areas for new experimentation.

Our courses are a blend of regenerative design theory, hands-on practical lessons, and trips throughout the region to check out related projects. They are both knowledge-dense and super fun! We offer weeklong introduction courses, two-week Permaculture Design Certification courses, to four-week Yoga Teacher Training + Permaculture and Herbalism + Permaculture courses.

All food and lodging are included with your course. Lodging takes place at the beautiful Bambu Guest House, a sustainable retreat center just down the road from the farm. Incorporating the Permaculture principles and built with bamboo, stone, wood, and glass, the Bambu is a great example of regenerative design and proof that sustainability and luxury can go hand-in-hand!
