Yoga + Permaculture Retreat
March 9-16 2019
tzununa, lake atitlan, guatemala
Join Shawna Turner for this epic week of yoga and permaculture! Each day includes a luxurious 2 hour yoga class, designed to leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated with a blend of vinaysa, yin, and restorative yoga and meditation. You will also participate in the Atitlan Organics Service Project, spending three half days planting heirloom avocado trees and support crops in a local family’s landholding. The week will nourish body and soul with the perfect balance of self care, earth care, and people care.
And that's just for starters! You'll be spending a week on Lake Atitlan, often called the most beautiful lake in the world. Enjoy the view while swinging in a hammock on your balcony, or explore the many quaint lakeside towns accessible via a short boat ride from Tzununa. Participants have the option to go to the Mayan community Quixaya, an amazing and inspiring village organized around the principles of Permaculture where the 1200 residents have transformed their 400 acres into a paradise of sustainable production.
If you feel called towards adventure and community, this is the retreat for you. We can't wait to meet you!
The Yoga + Permaculture Retreat will be hosted by the Bambu Guest House, a beautiful naturally-built hotel nestled into the hillsides of Tzununa and overlooking Lake Atitlan. Participants will stay in spacious shared rooms, each equipped with a bathroom, hot water, comfy beds, wifi, and a balcony with hammocks. The on-site farm-to-table restaurant will provide you with delicious meals three times a day, plus snacks, coffee, and herbal tea throughout the day. Many of the products featured in the menu come directly from Atitlan Organics!
The Bambu Guest House recently completed construction on a brand-new yoga deck overlooking the lake, volcanoes, and mountains. It is truly an awe-inspiring view to saturate yourself with as you delve into your yoga and meditation practices!
