  • What is the weather like during September/October? It is still the rainy season, which allows us to have more green plants and fungi to explore! It can be warm during the day around 70ºF/21ºC and can get down to 45ºF/7ºC in the night.

  • What about internet/phone? Internet is included at the Bambu. If you would like to get a SIM card, Tigo is recommended, though Claro also works well on the lake.

  • What should I pack? Students should make sure to bring:

    • An herbal or plant book to share for community learning

    • Gardening gloves

    • Rain boots or waterproof hiking/work boots

    • Rain jacket and/or umbrella

    • Headlamp and/or flashlight

    • Notebook, pens, pencils

    • Warm socks and clothing

    • Long Lightweight clothing for day time

    • Some clothes you don’t mind getting dirty when working outdoors

    • Sarong or other lightweight material for the sauna

    • Swim Suit

    • Personal snacks and medicinal kit

    • Biodegradable body care and feminine care products

    • Botanical Loop (optional)

    • Binoculars (optional)

    • Art supplies (optional)

    • Musical Instruments (optional)

    • Medicine Songs (optional)

    • Herbs from home to make teas or smokes (optional)

    • Fun superfoods to share like Nutritional Yeast, Hemp Seeds, etc... (optional)

    • Games or other group sharing activities (optional)

    • Art supply or educational material donations for local children (optional)

    • Personal alcohol/oil/honey/vinegar and small jars to make tinctures to bring home (optional)

    • Water bottle, travel mug and travel cutlery (optional)

    • Plant trimming scissors (optional)
