Shad and Colleen

Shad and Colleen have been living and working on Lake Atitlan in Guatemala for over four years. In February 2010, they moved onto the raw piece of land that is now the heart of Atitlan Organics. Atitlan Organics was born out of a vision of living close to the land and wanting to derive a upstanding livelihood from a small diversified landscape. Shad has over 13 years of organic and conventional farming and gardening experience and loves working with soil, plants, animals and people. He is a proud Ninja Farmer. Colleen has recently begun teaching at the local Waldorf School, Escuela Caracol. In her free time, she likes to cook and ferment, read, and study Kaq'chikel, which is the local mayan language in our area.

Nicholas

Born and raised in the town of Tzununa, which lies right below Atitlan Organics. Nicholas has worked with Shad and Colleen since Day 1, helping to craft the dream that we all are living. Nichloas is a supreme ninja farmer with skills beyond explanation. Shad and Colleen are endlessly impressed with his resourcefulness, ingenuity, and sheer motivation. Nicholas runs the day-to-day operations of the farm and manages the other farm workers.
